Cranberry Snickerdoodles

Soft and chewy cranberry orange snickerdoodles are the perfect holiday cookie! Flavored with fresh orange zest and dotted with dried cranberries.

Make orange sugar: Combine sugar and orange zest in a food processor and pulse to combine.

Step 1

Make dough: Whisk together flour, cream of tartar, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt in a medium bowl.

Step 2

Combine room temperature butter and orange-sugar in a large mixer bowl.

Step 3

Beat at medium speed until soft and creamy, about 2 minutes.

Step 4

Add egg, egg yolk, and vanilla extract to the mixer bowl and mix until combined.

Step 5

Gradually add dry ingredients, beating just until combined.

Step 6

Mix in dried cranberries.

Chill dough: The dough will be soft – cover and chill in the refrigerator for 30 minutes.

Scoop 1 1/2-inch balls of dough. Roll in cinnamon sugar and place on baking sheets. Press tops to flatten slightly.

Step 9

Bake cookies for 11 minutes, rotating halfway through. Cool cookies for 5 minutes on baking sheets, then transfer to wire racks to cool.
