The BEST Caramel Apple Tart

Caramel apple tart is perfect for fall baking season! Fresh apple slices are nestled in homemade caramel sauce between two layers of all-butter pastry!

Spread 1/2 cup to 2/3 cup salted caramel sauce into the chilled tart shell (enough to evenly coat the bottom).

Step 1

Add sliced apples to the tart pan, arranging tightly together. Use firm apple varieties, such as Fuji, Honeycrisp, and Granny Smith.

Step 2

Brush the apples with melted butter and sprinkle with granulated sugar.

Step 3

Arrange dough strips in a lattice pattern and run the rolling pin over the top of the pan to seal the edges. Chill assembled tart for 15 minutes.

Step 4

Bake tart for 50 to 60 minutes, rotating the pan halfway, until pastry is golden and juices bubbling. Cool tart for 1 hour.

Step 5

Serve with caramel sauce and ice cream!
