Best Crumb  Cake Recipe

This New York style crumb cake is moist and buttery! Topped with brown sugar and cinnamon crumb topping, this crumb cake recipe is simple and delicious!

Make crumb topping: Combine all-purpose flour, brown sugar, granulated sugar, cinnamon, and salt in a medium bowl.

Step 1

Add melted butter to the bowl.

Toss the mixture with a fork until large crumbs form. Chill topping while you make the cake batter.

Make cake: Combine room temperature butter, granulated sugar, and vanilla extract in a mixer bowl.

Beat for about 3 minutes, until light and fluffy.

Add egg to the mixer bowl.

Beat in on low speed until incorporated.

With the mixer on low speed, add dry ingredients in 3 additions.

Alternate with sour cream mixture.
