Whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt in a medium bowl.

STEP 2:

Beat butter and granulated sugar in a large mixer bowl at medium speed until light and fluffy.

STEP 3:

Beat in vanilla and almond extract until combined. A splash of pure almond extract adds depth of flavor.

STEP 4:

With mixer on low speed, add eggs one at a time. Mix until combined.

With mixer on low speed, add flour mixture in 3 additions.
