Nectarine ice cream is uncomplicated ice cream, simply pure deliciousness scooped onto a golden cone. Nectarines add vibrant flavor, and a splash of peach liqueur and a squeeze of honey complement the fruit and make it easy to scoop straight from the freezer.
When ice cream is this simple and this good, it’s all about the fruit so choose the best nectarines (or peaches) you can find. If you could bottle up all that’s magical about summer into a single dessert, you’d have this blissful ice cream. Top with nectarine slices and enjoy!
Nectarine Ice Cream
- Yield: 6 cups
Description
Nectarine ice cream is pure summer deliciousness! Nectarines add vibrant flavor, and a splash of peach liqueur and a squeeze of honey complement the fruit.
Ingredients
- 2 cups peeled and diced nectarines
- 1 Tbsp peach liqueur (optional)
- 1 Tbsp honey
- 1/8 tsp salt
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 1/2 cups heavy cream
- 1/2 cup whole milk
Instructions
- Combine nectarines, peach liqueur, honey, salt, and sugar in a food processor; blend until mostly smooth. Pour mixture into a medium bowl and whisk in heavy cream and whole milk. Cover and chill mixture for four hours in the refrigerator.
- Pour chilled ice cream mixture into frozen cylinder of ice cream maker; freeze according to manufacturer’s instructions. Spoon mixture into a freezer-safe container and freeze overnight until firm.
Notes
The peach liqueur adds flavor and prevents the ice cream from freezing too firmly.
