Back-to-back cookie posts can only mean one thing: cookie season is officially upon us! No matter how full life becomes, I always leave room for a quick batch of cookies. These flourless chocolate-hazelnut wonders fit into my schedule easily – the dough comes together in less than five minutes with only a handful of ingredients.

Flourless Chocolate-Hazelnut Cookies | Tutti Dolci

Incredibly rich and chewy, these cookies are sure to please the Nutella lovers in your life (they also happen to be gluten-free). December’s Chocolate Party theme is chocolate cookies; see more creations below.

Flourless Chocolate-Hazelnut Cookies | Tutti Dolci

Flourless Chocolate-Hazelnut Cookies
1 cup Nutella
1/2 cup sugar
1/4 cup light brown sugar
1 large egg
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/4 tsp salt
4 ounces milk chocolate with hazelnuts, chopped (I used Lindt)
1/2 cup hazelnuts, chopped

Combine Nutella, sugars, egg, vanilla, baking soda, and salt in a large mixer bowl and beat at medium speed until combined, about 2 minutes. Add chopped chocolate and hazelnuts; mix in just until combined. Cover dough and chill for one hour.

Preheat oven to 350°F and line two baking sheets with silicone mats or parchment paper. Form 1 1/2″ balls of dough and place two inches apart on prepared baking sheets; flatten mounds slightly with the tines of a fork. Bake, rotating pans halfway through, for 9 minutes, until set. Cool for 5 minutes on baking sheets, then transfer cookies to a wire rack to cool completely. Store in an airtight container at room temperature up to 3 days.

  1. Oh, my! I could eat an entire platter full of these cookies, Laura! Love that they are flourless and gluten free (since Nutella is) as well as packed with plenty of chocolate and hazelnut flavor with the chopped Lindt chocolate with hazelnuts and chopped hazelnuts. These babies just made my holiday cookie baking list! Thank you for sharing, my friend. Pinning!

  2. I need more hazelnuts in my life. Flourless cookies always get my attention! These really are beautiful cookies. I’ll pin them for later…

I hope you are having a good start to your week!

  3. Definitely pinning these! Quick question–do these hold up well and stay soft for several days? I need to ship some cookies to someone, and am looking for a recipe that will keep well and stay sturdy enough to ship. Think these would work?

  4. I just roasted and skinned a batch of hazelnuts for holiday baking! Impeccable timing! I love how the hazelnuts peek out from the sumptuous Nutella pillows!

  5. Absolutely delicious looking cookies, Laura! Where do you find or buy your hazelnuts from? I used to purchase them from Trader Joe’s, but haven’t been able to find them these weeks. So many great recipes this time of year using hazelnuts. Thanks for sharing this chocolaty-goodness!

    1. Thank you, Cristina! I found hazelnuts at Trader Joe’s (perhaps your store is out of them at the moment?). I’ve also ordered them from Bob’s Red Mill, and they are wonderful.

  6. I want to share these on G+! Are you gonna get yourself on there? 🙂 I would share on FB, but you know… it’s kind of useless and 4 people would see it.

These look lovely! Cookies that come together so quickly are great. Especially ones with Nutella. 🙂
